okay, here’s the intro
February 7, 2007 at 6:06 am | In Reflections | 8 Commentsthis was long in the coming. too long. after two failed attempts over at blogspot (passwords now banished to oblivion), we proudly present… *cue really grand musical intro* the UP Diliman Navigators Alumni Blog! (applause here would be great, but we’ll settle for that oh-sucks, nostalgic smile…)
yes, girls and boys, those of you in your late 20s or early 30s, who now only have fading memories… of days spent at the nav tambayan (where the world’s best sisig is just a sniff away); of soul-satisfying times in bible study or times running away from BS? hehe; of laughter generated by our warped sense humor (who else on this planet thinks the word ‘meni’ is funny?); of tears shed for joy (tres!) and sorrow (singko!); of MNM’s (truly chocolatey!) and TNT’s (explosively insightful!)… this space is for you.
and also for you who might not remember any of the things above because (circle all applicable)…
(a) the cruel corporate world has stressed you out to the point of amnesia;
(b) you weren’t with the UP diliman navs in the 90s (er, 1890s then?);
(c) you came to the nav meetings solely for the food, all else is a blur now
(d) you were a navie elsewhere — say, aruba?
(e) okay, you’re just blog-hopping, or ‘omniscient’ google brought you here
seriously now. we’d like to think that the UP dil navs was/is more, exponentially more, than just a subculture, or just a clique of university students wanting to have fun and free food while learning more about Christ on the side.
this space is for anyone who has had contact with the UP diliman navigators and would like to keep connected despite the pulls and pushes of life after UP
soon we’ll be posting some guidelines for, well, posting. so get ready with your stories and we hope you can plug in to the nav connection soon.
now, isn’t this way cooler than our logbook? and, for the record, i’m the very first to log! hah.

As a virtual infant in the world of blogging, I would definitely be needing those intructions/guidelines for posting, Aleks. You might want to impose a “post”-quota on yourself though, because I for one feel like a blubbering, incoherent idiot next to — or under, above — your poetic insights and eloquent entries. *Sigh!* Where was I when God was passing out creative-writing-with-wit talents? The only creativity I got only applied to formulating responses to my mother’s insitent demands to eat her cooking…which happened to all be veggies when I was little (“Mmmm…!This is soooo good I’ll save it for tomorrow” accompanied by the best foodie-commercial face I could muster). LOL
Eniweiz..’leks, I’m of course kidding about the post-quota. You know I luv everything ur pen scratches out…er, fingers type up. Grabe gyud ka -mingaw kaau reading the post about tambayan and Navsie activities..especially the part about sisig.
People, I miss you all. Sorry loooong ‘comment.’ Glad we have this blog now. Let’s talk more. Ram, thanks for taking care of Your Majesty on my whirlwind trip there. I hadn’t forgotten about u, just been soooo bz since I got back. Will reply to ur email tonight.

this is like old times, no? do you notice – the same people who used to hog the logbook are the same ones keen on blogging here! (paging ttart, cheloy, et al!) only now, there’s no bleeding pen to worry about
but too bad we can’t draw and doodle…

Oo nga ‘leks..even the “I’m the first to log…I’m the first to comment” is very reminiscent of logbook days. Which reminds me..(from the bleeding pen remark) I bought half a dozen Pilot Fine pens from National Bookstore to use here and I didn’t see it when I unpacked. Hmm..those blasted airport security inspectors must have taken them. Aaaargghh! I almost missed check-in time for my intl flight because I just HAD to get those pens. But apparently, not as important as I thought because it took 3 wks to realize they’re missing….hm..again. Sigi leks, tudlui bya ko mag-blog ha?
Ate Jing..hello!! D rest of the gang, happy V-day! My valentine is still out of the country so I join Aleks and the rest of the ‘rebels’ today in non-celebration of Hallmark’s most lucrative invention. Cheers!

hi ate sharon! i think the kids still have their logbook but they don’t use it as frequent as we did ‘back in the days of old.’ hehe
they too have a blog. about the improvement in our looks, i’m ambivalent about that comment. hahaha! ‘hope we’ll catch u at the nav women’s conference. God bless po!
